Sydney Australia is the largest city in the country. It hosts four million citizens. It is the state capital of New South Wales. Nicknamed the “Harbour City”, Sydney sits on an inlet into the Tasman Sea. The city was established in 1788. Sydney tourism is a big and ever growing industry for the city.

Sydney is considered a tourism mecca in Australia. There are so many things to do. One can bask in the sun at Bondi Beach, see a performance at the Sydney Opera House, visit historical sites and museums, go to the zoo, shop or even stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens. Accommodations abound and a visitor needs not worry there are plenty of places to stay.

The Sydney Opera House draws many visitors each year into its hallways. The opera house opened in 1973. Famous for its unique architecture, the Opera House has continuous performances throughout the year. Checking performance schedules and purchasing tickets can be done by using their website.

The Taronga Zoo is a fun filled place for people of all ages. There are exhibits from all over the world. Animals abound and there are even animal encounters where you can get super close to the animal. Do not worry there is assistance nearby. Some examples of animals at the zoo are chimpanzees, lions, elephants, giraffes, cobras, crocodiles and of course the cuddly koala. The zoo offers fun kid programs during the holidays and even a sleep at the zoo night.

If you need a rest and want to relax in the sun, Bondi Beach is a must see. The beach offers sun and surf. It has beautiful white sandy beaches and wonderful surf. There are many shops and restaurants to browse through. The beach is conveniently located only about thirty minutes from downtown Sydney.

The Royal Botanic Garden is another place that is a favorite. Strolling through its beautiful gardens is a wonderful way to see what Australia has to offer in the way of plant life. There are many species. A visitor can participate in a self guided tour or if more information is what you crave, follow a guided tour. They occur daily at noon.

Sydney tourism is there for the picking. There are so many activities to do while visiting Sydney it will be hard to choose. From beaches to the zoo and strolling through Royal Gardens, a visitor will find it an amazing city. It offers many assorted activities for the young and old.
